Rebecca figured out coloring (or making marks on things) months ago. She would get a crayon, pencil, marker and draw on any paper like thing she could find. Most of the time she did her coloring on paper she was given-but not all the time.
This afternoon we had the white board in the kitchen with a marker on top of it. She started to draw even with the lid on it, so I took the lid off. She went right to work making her masterpiece. I helped her out by writing her name, dad's name and drawing pictures of both of them. She helped by coloring dad face in, and drawing on the names.
She was so proud of her art work, and didn't want to stop. Dad was feeding her cherry snow cone during her art time, hence the bright red lips!
At church we can give her colored pencils and a notebook and she's happy for most of sacrament meeting.

Johann turns 35
Johann wanted only 1 thing for his birthday this year. A Nice comfortable seat to take to the City High football games. I decided that we would need 2 not just 1 seat, because if we went together I'd get the seat and he'd end up on the metal bench. He was excited to see the chairs and how nice they were.
The kids, especially Rebecca LOVED them and had to try them out.
For dessert we had a red velvet cake that his mom made.

Lemme Carnival
Each year our elementary school has a carnival in the fall. The kids so look forward to playing the games and earning prizes.
Rebecca fell in love with the duck pond. She'd stand by it and pull a duck out look at it, put it in back and get another one out. The only way we could get her away from the pond was with a sucker. After the sucker was gone and she was good and sticky, she was getting bored, so we took her back to play in the duck pond some more.
Ammon really wanted to win a blue soccer bag for his soccer gear. He tried earning it with a baseball game, but they were out of them. Later him and Corrine went into this booth where they zip it up and tickets blow all over and you have to catch them. To get a prize they had to get a ticket with a star on it. When they were in the booth they got 1 or 2 tickets blowing around. Then Ammon saw a big pile of them on the ground and picked them up. I was sure the kids in charge would say he didn't win, but instead they looked at his hands full of tickets and said "I bet you have one with a star in there. Go get a prize." At the prize bucket Ammon saw what he had been looking for a blue soccer bag!
Ammon was super cute at the carnival pointing out his new friends from his class. This was his 1st week, so he couldn't remember all of their names, but he recognized their faces. He even ran off with some to play on the play structure.
Corrine was quiet and took a while to decide what she wanted to spend her tickets on. She decided that she wanted to spend 6 tickets and go in the bounce house. The line was so long, and it was near the end of the carnival. Luckily she was the last group to go in and it was so worth the wait.
Simeon (aka-mister independent) ran right off. He played some games, then ran out to the field to play football with some friends. He really wanted to win a WII game bundle in the raffle, so he spent his own $1 to put into it. He was pretty dissapointed when someone won it.

Scooters
What could be more fun in the summer then scooters!!
The kids have spent so much time on their scooters this summer. They make roads with chalk, obstacle courses with cones and race back and forth on the sidewalk.
Rebecca decided that she was going to rearrange the cones for them mid obstacle course, so the cones were forgotten and the races began. She wanted so badly to use a scooter, so I think we're going to need to get the 3 wheeled scooter out for her.
Let the race's begin
They each have a different colored scooter: Simeon's is red, Corrine's is pink and Ammon's is blue.
I love how Ammon gets his entire body in each and every push. He bends down low and gets as much speed as he can get.

1st days of school
This year we had 2 different 1st days of school because to Corrine and Ammon were at camp on the official 1st day.
Thursday Aug 19th was the official 1st day of school
Simeon started 4th grade today in a 3rd/4th combo class. He has the same teacher as last year-Mrs. Johnson that he really likes. He is growing up so fast and is becoming so independent. He didn't want any pictures taken of him at school. I took one anyways. Simeon seemed more excited that school started at the end of the day after he got to see his friends then on the walk up.

Monday Aug 23rd
Corrine's 1st day of 2nd grade. She has Mrs. Jetter for a teacher this year and is at door #8. Corrine did really good with quickly meeting her teacher and seeing her seat before school started, then heading out to wait for the bell. She was the 1st one from her class there and she was fine to wait by herself.
Ammon's 1st day of Kindergarten with Mrs. Christianson. (Both Simeon and Corrine had her and we really like her.) We went in before the day started to meet the teacher and see where his cubby and things went. He was so excited he wanted to leave his hat in his cubbie right then. Outside he waiting very quietly for the bell to ring. He was so excited to use his camoflauge lunchbox, and to have his name on the strap of his backpack like army guys. He had sharing today and he brought in his medical doll, a picture of the siblings and a book that he read to the class.
Markus, Ammon, Sage and Darren
The boys both wanted Cubs Jersey's and hats for the 1st day of school. I think they look so nice matching.
And Rebecca-well she gets mom to herself for the next 4 years!!!

I'm back
I'm finally getting some time to get back on here after our trip and then getting Corrine and Ammon off to camp. It's been a busy last month and I have SOOOO many things to update on and pictures to share. School starts is 2 days and then I'll have more quiet time during naptime so I am hoping to get updated very soon.
Keep checking back as I'll post-date my enteries (I like them to be in order) and the latest one would be from July 22nd or so.
