Ammon the Scientist

At the fall book fair Ammon picked out a Weird Science kit. It had a book with different experiments to do long with some scientist tools. Ammon was on cloud nine with it and came right home and did a few easier experiments that night.


Since Simeon has been working on his scientist badge for Webelos, science has been on our minds alot.
We've made lots of bursting volcanoes of all colors. We've tested using vinegar and baking soda vs lemon juice and baking soda. They both popped the top off the beakers, but the vinegar seemed to do it faster and with more power.





We've made sludgy layers to look at the different densities of different liquids.
We even blew up sandwich bags using vinegar and baking soda.
Every good scientist needs a safe pair of goggles, but ours seemed to have found some unfamiliar homes, so we switched in swim goggles for the girls.

I love how excited Ammon gets when we do science experiment. We've all had such a great time doing the experiments together!
