We started the day off at Liberty Park near the San Diego Airport. We grabbed In-N-Out near there and ate before heading to the park to play. Rebecca was all into posing for me on the dolphin and running around the playground with Zach. She loves to look at the picture of her and Luke going down the slide and say "He's staring at me mom!"
After playing at the park we headed up to the visitors center at Point Loma. Our kids were excited to do the Junior Ranger Program there and earn another badge. All the cousins decided to do it too. It took a long time for Camille & Simeon to finish their badges since they had the most to do. All the cousins were SUPER excited to earn their badges. This was Rebecca's 1st badge earned and she was over the moon excited!
After getting their badges we headed down to the tidepools. When we got there the parking lot was packed. Luckily we were able to get a parking spot. The tide was at it's lowest point when we got there so we were able to explore more of the area. The kids found lots of crabs to look at.
Ammon and Tanner started playing in the water more than exploring. Tanner was really funny. He didn't want to get his socks wet, so he took them off and put them in his pocket, but kept on his tennis shoes!
Simeon & Sam joined in the fun. At first they just were getting their feet wet, but that wasn't enough. They wanted to get their knees wet, then it was shorts getting wet, splashing each other and finally our boys were wet up to their armpits and smiling from ear to ear. Rebecca wanted to join the fun in the waves, but she didn't want to get as wet as the boys.
As we left we got a quick picture of our family. We have a picture of our family way back when in a similar area when Simeon was 3 and Corrine was still a baby.
The cemetery on top of the hill in Point Loma is beautiful. The cemetery looks down on the bay and is a fitting place for those who were in the Navy to be laid to rest.
Cabrillo State Park in Point Loma is a beautiful peaceful place. You can see so much from up there. Even though your near the busy city, when your here you're a step away from it all.
