Daisy Days for Corrine

Today was Corrine's 1st Daisy Meeting. We have 10 girls in the troop. All of them are kindergarteners and 8 are from Corrine's class. (Daisy's can be both kindergarteners and 1st graders.)

I was surprised at how quiet the girls were at the meeting. They started warming up and getting more talkative towards the end. Some of them said they were nervous because they didn't know what we were going to do at the meeting.
The girls will be Daisy's for 2 years, and we are working earning their 'Daisy' for their tunics. There is a center and 10 petals that the girls can earn by learning different parts of the Girl Scout Law & Promise.
Another fun thing is that for the 1st time ever-Daisy's get to sell cookies!!

how fun! mallory is a daisy, too, and she loves it! unfortunately, the only troop here is comprised of eleven girls from lakeview elementary... and mallory. all of the other girls know each other REALLY well, so i think mallory sometimes feels a bit left out, but it's the only option we had.

i hope corrine likes girl scouts! i was a girl scout for almost ten years and i think it gave me a lot of useful skills and experiences, not unlike what the bsa does for boys. it's fairly uncommon, in our experience, for members of the church to put their kids in girl scouts, so i'm super excited that you guys are doing it, too!
