Devil's Punchbowl

Today we headed to Muscatine to go hike through the Devil's Punchbowl. Johann had come here before with the scouts and really enjoyed it and thought that the kids would like it too.

As soon as we sat down to eat lunch it started to lightly rain, so we headed for the van. Of course it stopped raining as soon as we got into the van!
The area was beautiful-very green with dramatic cliffs and great scenery.

At one point the trail splits off-one leads up and one lead flatter but down. The kids choose to go UP, so UP we went. It had rained alot during the morning, so there was alot of mud on the path.

Found 2 snails, 1 worm, 1 dead mouse

Simeon wore his camo gear from head to toe to blend in. Ammon and Dad wore their matching Cubs shirts. Both Simeon & Ammon got really muddy from slifing down the hill.
Rebecca was in the front carrier and slept the entire hike!

We have a devil's punchbowl in San Diego too. It has nice pools at the end and waterfalls.
I'm glad your kids like to hike!
